Outdoor Family Photo Session | Silver Spring, Maryland
Back in February of 2022, I took newborn portraits for this sweet family. I was beyond excited when mom reached out and asked for updated portraits, but this time they wanted to do an outdoor family photo session. Up until recently I haven’t been doing a ton of outdoor family photo sessions, but I realized that as my families grew, they needed options that worked for squirmy toddlers and bigger kids! So I’m excited to officially be able to offer them!
Mom and I went back and forth with several different locations and finally settled on Butlers Orchard to do the Outdoor family photo session. We were both thrilled with both the location and how amazing the team at the farm were so accommodating. When we arrived they treated us to delicious apple cider slushies before taking us to the apple orchard where the main part of the photos were taken.
Little man had a fabulous time collecting apples from all over the place and taking a bite out of every single one! We moved around to a few different areas making sure to get gorgeous sunset images at the very end. It was a fabulous place for running free in a beautiful setting that added life and color to all the images!
I love adding texture and color to the photos with different blankets and props. Toddlers need to be kept busy and I was glad I remembered to bring one of my wooden toys along. It’s fun to play with and doesn’t take away from the aesthetic of the whole image. You’ll see as you scroll though the images how beautifully everything came together.
