Wondering what to wear for your photo shoot?
Here are some neutral outfits for newborn sessions so you can get inspired! When picking outfits for your shoot, I recommend sticking to earth tones. That doesn’t mean you can’t have any color. Actually, there are earth tones of every color!
So instead of bright red, choose maroon. Instead of yellow, choose mustard. Look for deeper blues and moss greens. All these fall into the earth tone color scheme that will photograph well in your infant’s session.
This baby boy was such a good example of what to wear! We had several items to work with during his baby boy newborn shoot! We started off with an all white look. A classic for newborns! I love the fresh palette that really accentuates their features and lets their newborn sweetness be center-stage. You’ll notice on his all-white outfit that we chose a piece that has a linen texture to it. Adding texture to your images is a great way to add depth and interest without introducing new colors.
Another example of neutral outfits for newborn sessions is the beige knit sweater romper we chose for the second look.

For the end of baby boy’s session, we played around with colors. Bringing in a rich green hue to use with the basket. I love the contrast between the natural texture of the basket and the green fabrics. This sweet kiddo was adorable all wrapped up!!
Lastly, we played with a deep wine-red palette. Using wraps to get those sleepy posed shots. I’ll forever love those sweet detail photos of tiny hands and fingers! And don’t get me started on the little facial features! Those are the details you will want to remember forever. And they change so, SO fast in the beginning!
