As a Silver Spring Newborn Photographer, I want you to consider this your invitation to personalize your session! Here’s what I mean! If you have something that your family really loves, or a sentimental item, please bring it to your photo shoot!
This session is a great example of that!
When we first hopped on a consultation call for their newborn session, this family mentioned to me that they love all things celestial! Moon, stars, clouds – you name it! So when I started designing the studio for their session, I knew we had to include some nods to this for their family! I started off with a classic black background for family shots first. We made sure to get all the photos of the three of them together. I love new parents lovin’ on their newborn! That bond is so undeniable, and I can’t believe I get to capture it all the time. (Have I mentioned I love my job!?) Peek at the photo of dad holding baby in just his hands! So cute!
After we wrapped up family photos, we pivoted to baby-only shots! This is where we got to mix in some unique concepts! I’m always, always a fan of you getting to personalize your session!
We chose a neutral knit sweater onesie for baby boy’s first photos! (Remember this one!?) We used a Moses basket and made sure to add lots of textures in blankets and backdrops. This really adds depth to the photos. Then we moved on to the celestial theme shots! We started with a cloud set. Using cotton to create the clouds around him on the navy backdrop. I loved the look of his sweet sleeping face on the little cloud. Talk about adorable!
We used the blue backdrop for some neutral photos of just babe and then added in the stars and moons. These celestial props really added a unique element that was meaningful to the family. That’s what I mean when I invite you to personalize your session! I love seeing your personality and interests infused into the photos!
